Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised by an ethnically mixed family. Her mother is English and her father is Nigerian. Her family was in the southern part of London Council Estate, and then went to The Brit School aged 14. It was the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned an acting BA. She was on stage in numerous productions during her time at school including the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe got her start in acting by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. Since then, she's been a guest star on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty as well as Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film role was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), opposite Colin Farrell. In the wake of that film's success her role was Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside playing Ollie. In 2008, she landed the role as Bambi on the ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl and was featured in the episodes two and three. Madekwe also appeared on the comedic How to Lose Friends and to annoy people (2008). Her credits in theatre includes Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe made her US debut on the drama The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes in the US on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge as of February 2011. Madekwe appeared in all episodes in the series' initial two seasons as an regular. However, in May 2013, the word broke that the actress would be departing the show following her appearance as a guest on the premiere episode of its third season. On the show Salem in 2014, she portrayed Tituba between 2014 and the year 2016. Madekwe and her partner who has been with her for a long time, Iddo Goldenberg, were married in June 2012. They both appeared on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also starred together in Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was raised in a huge family from Hamilton, Ontario. She was raised by the parents Roy and Patty together with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's brothers, who were all very active, took part in hockey during the winter and baseball during the summers, meaning that she grew up playing in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley was unable to walk, but was able to dance. As a result, as she grew older, she discovered Baby Ballet. This was the beginning of Ashley's love for dancing. When she was in the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical, and hip hop. Top soloists at big competitions, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which were all given to Ashley.
