Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actor and performer whose performance variety earned her acclaim across many genres ranging from period drama to action and thriller. Johansson was born in New York City, and was raised by an father, an architect, and mother who produced. Hunter and her twin brother, and she were all the smallest of four kids. In her early years she started performing. Actually, at 7 years old she was already auditioning for a number of commercials. To enhance her acting skills, she joined an acting class at Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan as well as the Professional Children's School. Johansson made her debut a film actress in North (1994) at the age of nine. She was just eight when she appeared with Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson then appeared as a character in Just Cause, but she was first seen in Manny & Lo, a film that follows orphaned siblings as they flee.
